About

The goal of Child Advocacy Day is to bring advocates from across the state together to urge legislators to support policies and programs that support and uplift children and families in Missouri. Attendees are given the chance to better inform themselves on the issues through workshops and networking before meeting with their Senators and Representatives to advocate for the hot topics of the day.

History

Missouri Child Advocacy Day was founded in 1982 by the Missouri Alliance for Children, Youth, and Families. The Alliance was created as an outgrowth of the Child Welfare Task Force of the Governor’s Conference on Children and Youth. It began with the goal of serving as a statewide network of citizens and community-based organizations tasked with improving coordination and communication among child and family well-being advocates in the state.
